This article by Sarah E. Fiarman appeared in Educational Leadership magazine in November 2016. The article explores examples of bias that teachers often are not aware they hold or act upon and gives strategies for examining and combatting unconscious and unwanted bias. "We need to recognize these unwanted, deep-rooted beliefs and limit their influence on us."
